Who operates this site

FirstStrike News Ltd publishes Irkutsk Live and is responsible for the information it handles. Contact us at tips@irkutsklive.com for editorial enquiries, privacy requests and complaints.

Information handled by this site

This version has no newsletter signup, advertising, payment form or medical-data collection form. It does not ask for your location. The Questions page accepts public comments and source links, uses account verification, and remembers voting choices using a functional cookie. Its database also stores public reporting, feed caches, review history and aggregate traffic totals. No advertising cookies are used.

Privacy-friendly traffic counts

From 4 October 2026 (Australia/Sydney), we count visits and page views using our own service. We retain daily totals by public page, using UTC dates. The counter does not store IP addresses, browser details, referrers, query strings or visitor identifiers, and sets no cookies or browser-storage identifiers. These aggregate totals are retained for historical reporting. A fresh page load or new tab starts a visit; navigation within the page adds page views. Repeat visits are counted separately, so totals are not unique people. We honour Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control for this counter and filter obvious automated traffic; blockers and other automation can affect accuracy. This does not control the hosting providers described below.

Email correspondence

If you email us, FirstStrike News Ltd may receive your name, email address, message and any attachments you choose to include. We use this information to assess tips, investigate corrections, respond to enquiries and handle privacy requests. Do not send patient names, health records or other sensitive personal information.

Email is processed by our email service provider. Relevant correspondence may be retained while needed to handle your enquiry, maintain an appropriate editorial record or meet legal obligations, and should then be deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. Access should be limited to people who need it for those purposes. Sending a tip does not grant permission to publish your private contact details.

Hosting and access

The site is delivered through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. These providers may process request information such as IP address, browser details, requested URLs, timestamps and security logs to deliver, protect and operate the service. Reading and voting are public. Posting requires ChatGPT sign-in and an additional email-verification code. The application receives your site-specific account identifier and email for this purpose. Your email is not published.

See the providers' own privacy information: OpenAI and Cloudflare. Provider retention periods and international processing are governed by their policies; we do not represent that we can determine or control them.

Questions, accounts and votes

We store your site-specific account identifier, a hash of your email, verification status and temporary hashed verification codes. Once email delivery is configured, requesting a code sends your email address and the verification message to Resend. Codes expire after ten minutes. See Resend's privacy policy. Verification is for access control, not marketing.

Your chosen display name, contributions, source links and posting times are public. We retain contributions, vote records and reports to operate and moderate the discussion while needed for these purposes. Do not submit patient names, private health details or other sensitive personal information. Contact us for access or removal requests.

The Questions page sets a functional cookie, irkutsk_vote, for up to one year to remember voting choices. A hashed browser identifier is stored with votes and reports. Clearing cookies can permit another vote, so counts are not unique-person counts. Abuse controls store request counters associated with a daily salted hash of an IP address; raw IP addresses are not stored by these application controls. This is separate from the aggregate traffic counter. Expired verification hashes and rate-limit records may remain in storage until maintenance removes them; they cannot authorize expired challenges.

Graphics and external services

The original flight graphic is served by this site and does not load external map tiles. No device geolocation is requested or transmitted by our application.

News feeds are fetched by the site's server. Latest developments are served directly by this site. The homepage does not load X's scripts or embedded timeline. The follow link opens X only when selected. See X's privacy policy. Opening a publisher, health-source or X link sends you to that provider, whose privacy rules apply. External links use referrer protection.

Use, disclosure and retention

Public source information is stored to provide the monitor, preserve review history and reduce repeated feed requests. Application code does not sell visitor information or build advertising profiles. Service providers may process information internationally, including outside Australia. This policy must be updated if features, providers or information-handling practices change.

The site retains review history for accountability. Feed cache entries are replaced on subsequent successful refreshes. We do not set a retention period for infrastructure logs controlled by providers. Security is supported by HTTPS, protected update endpoints and server-side storage of access credentials, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Requests, corrections and complaints

Email tips@irkutsklive.com with the subject “Privacy request” or “Privacy complaint”. Describe the information or issue concerned without including unnecessary sensitive details. FirstStrike News Ltd will consider your request, take reasonable steps to verify identity where needed, and explain the outcome or any lawful reason a request cannot be fulfilled. Requests concerning provider-controlled information may need to be referred to the relevant provider.

The mailbox is currently being set up; delivery has not yet been verified.
